When our family vacations in the Smoky Mountains, we spend  many of the cool, Fall evenings strolling through downtown Gatlinburg.  We make an effort to stop in the Village shopping district and pick up coffee at the Coffee and Company coffee shop.  The coffee is very good.  We also stop next door at the Donut Friar for the best glazed croissants we've ever tasted.  I would definitely recommend spending time strolling through the shops in downtown Gatlinburg during the evening and paying a visit to Coffee and Company.  Enjoy!
