I will update this page periodically with various photos taken at cafes/coffeehouses.

These photos were taken at Cafe Con Leche in Apalachicola, Florida.  Apalachicola is a quiet fishing town with plenty of excellent restaurants/cafes, antique shopping and B&Bs.  While in Apalachicola, stop by Tamara's Cafe for lunch or dinner.  I've posted a link on the [Links] page for more information.

This following photo is the Ossorio Bakery and Cafe in the Cocoa Village in Cocoa, Florida.  Ossorio is very laid back and has extremely good pizza.  Melanie and I had lunch there during my business trip to the area.  When our baseball game was rained out later that evening, we returned for coffee and pastries.  This is a must 'to-do' if you're ever in the Cocoa, Florida area.

The following photos were taken at Run Agrounds Coffee House in Cape Coral, Florida. Our friends took us to the marina on their boat for lunch. After lunch, we roamed the shops and had gelato at Run Agrounds. Later in the week, we returned a couple of times for coffee in the evening, while the kids had gelato. However, we decided to drive over after our first trip.  Run Agrounds was one the highlights of our vacation and we definitely recommend this fabulous coffeehouse to you the next time your in the Cape Coral/Fort Myers area.

The following photos were taken at the Black & Brew Coffee House and Bistro in Lakeland, Florida.  Our family had dinner and dessert on a Friday evening while in town on business.  This cafe is owned by two local brothers who offer great food/coffee combined with small town hospitality mixed with an elegant, sophisticated atmosphere.  Black & Brew is one our top coffee houses.  You must give this coffee house and bistro a try.

The following photos were taken at Amelia Island Coffee in historical Fernandina Beach, FL.  This wonderful coffee shop is located on Centre Street along with many fine shops, cafes, restaurants and Bed & Breakfasts.  Amelia Island Coffee has provided quality coffee over the years during our visits.  This past weekend we drove up to Fernandina Beach after spending a couple of days in Jacksonville.  On Saturday, we had breakfast at Ameila Island Coffee before strolling through the many shops as part of last minute Christmas shopping.  I had a marvelous Ultimate Scramble wrap which was very delicious.  The coffee was outstanding and Melanie recommends the Mocha.  The atmosphere is very laid back and the locals are extremely friendly.  Spend a couple of nights at one of the local Bed & Breakfasts and spend time in the many shops, as well as plan to visit the beach and the local State Park which has a fort in which you can tour.  (I recommend visiting during the holidays.)

The following photos were taken at the Mockingbird Cafe in Havana, FL.  A friend of ours from West Palm Beach, Denise, was in town recently and we took here up to Havana for a relaxing, Saturday afternoon.  We strolled through a few of the shops in the historical, downtown area but first had lunch at the Mockingbird Cafe.  This was a first for all of us and we all raved about how good our food was. We chose a table in the garden courtyard which added to the already relaxing, but fun atmosphere.   I had the Cuban Sandwich and Black Beans w/Rice.  Delicious!  We also stayed longer to try out a couple of desserts along with coffee.  The desserts were worth the trip by themselves.  The coffee was very good as well, so much so that Mel said that here Cafe Mocha was better the Starbucks.  That's saying a lot coming from a frequent Starbucks user.....Whenever you're in the Havana/Tallahassee area, make the time to visit the Mockingbird Cafe.  It is very much worth it!

The following photos were taken at the Magnolia Cafe and Coffee House in Havana, FL:

Tues - Fri: 6:30am - 2:30pm / Sat: 8:00am - 3:00pm

My aunt Debbie called one day and told me about a cafe in Havana where she and my uncle Johnny had recently stopped for lunch.  Knowing that I had this website, she was eager to tell me about Magnolia Cafe & Coffee House.  I took a day off from work last week as I returned home late the evening before from a business trip to south Florida.  We used this day to visit Havana and drop in to check out the Magnolia Cafe.  The coffee was very good and the hometown atmosphere was most welcoming.  The owners took the time to talk to us and we felt at home.  After our visit, we strolled the many shops that line the streets of downtown Havana.

The next day, my wife and I decided to return for lunch.  The lunch menu contains varieties of salads, sandwiches and wraps. I recommend the New England Shrimp Wrap which I enjoyed that day.  If you're ever in the Havana, FL area, drop in to the Magnolia Cafe & Coffee House for breakfast or lunch.  While you're in town, take the time to stroll through the many antique stores and novelty shops in downtown Havana.  (Havana is located about 11 miles North of Tallahassee on US Highway 27.)

The following photos were taken recently during a visit to Maribella Cafe in Tallahassee.  Maribella Cafe is located near our home and we like to stop in when we get a chance.  The food and coffee are always amazing.  This past Friday, Melanie and I stopped by for breakfast on our day off.  We had the egg, cheese and ham croissant with our favorite coffee drinks.  Very delicious!  I would also recommend the French Dip if you visit after 5:00 pm.  Make sure you leave room for the desserts, as well.  The staff is very hospitable and the atmosphere is relaxing.  See the [Top 10] page for more information.

I experienced  Ellianos Coffee Company this week during a drive home from working in Gainesville.  Ellianos is a drive-through only coffee shop with two locations in Lake City, Florida: one very convenient to I-75 on Highway 90.  There are other locations in North Florida and South Georgia, as well.  I was very impressed with the coffee I had and look forward to dropping in again the next trip that takes me past Lake City.  I have placed a link to the Ellianos website on the [Links] page.

While working in Gainesville recently, I found Maude's Classic Cafe which is located next to the Hippodrome Theatre in the historical downtown area.  I picked up a cup of coffee on the way in to work and I enjoyed the taste.  Although it is located next to a large Starbucks, I found the cafe to be very inviting with a nicely arranged courtyard and trendy artifacts/photos posted inside.  There were tempting desserts in the cafe, but it was way too eary in the morning to try one.  The next time you're in Gainesville head over to Maude's.  They stay open late most evenings.

The following photo was taken at PJ's Coffee in Gainesville, FL.  I believe the coffee shop has changed it's name to Bourbon Street Coffee Company.  This coffee shop was located near my hotel during my recent stay in Gainesville.  I stopped by to pick up a cup of coffee to go with a cuban panini ordered at the Atlanta Bread Company across the street.  The outside has a neat appeal and the inside is equally as trendy.  I would have liked to have had more time to relax inside the coffeehouse, but plan to return again in the future.  The coffee shop also serves Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

I recently visited Fort Lauderdale on business. While there I stopped by Brew Urban Cafe twice. On the first visit, I had the Espresso Con Panna before meeting friends for dinner on Las Olas Blvd. Brew Urban's decor was trendy and the atmosphere relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the coffee tremendous. If I weren't meeting friends for dinner, I would have stayed longer. I also stopped by on the way to work the next morning for a cup of coffee. I really like the fact that Brew Urban has long hours, opening at 6:30 am and closing around 11:00 pm. If I lived in Fort Lauderdale, I would be a frequent customer. Give it a try.

I recently returned to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area on business and was able to bring along my wife.  While in Fort Lauderdale, we stopped by Brew Urban after dinner.  She loved the coffee and the atmosphere.

Recently, my family took a couple of days off and drove over to St. Augustine.  We love St. Augustine for it's historical and eclectic appeal.  During this trip, we discovere a new coffee shop, Rockin' Bean Coffee.  The coffee and pastries were very good.  What we really liked about Rockin' Bean is the atmosphere.  In the upper level of the store, there is an artsy, lounge area with a stage area.   There's also a library space with numerious books, games for your use.  This coffee shop is located just a couple of blocks from the Castillo de san Marcos fort and one block from the bay.  The next time you're in St. Augustine, I highly recommend visiting the Rockin' Bean.

more photos of Rockin' Bean coming soon....

Also, while in St. Augustine, we had dinner (and dessert) at Cafe del Hidalgo located at the corner of Hypolita Street and  St. George Street.  My wife and I stopped in at this cafe a couple of years ago while I was in the area on business.  This trip we had sandwiches and salads so we could save room for dessert and coffee.  The kids had the Italian Gelato while my wife and I shared a chocolate cake w/mousse with our favorite coffee drinks.  The staff, as always, was extremely friendly and the atmosphere fits in with the historical St. Augustine feel.  Make sure to stop by Cafe del Hidalgo the next time you're in St. Augustine.

Last month, I was in Tampa teaching a class.  After the class, I hung around town waiting for my daughter's youth group to arrive for a conference.  While waiting, I had lunch in the Hyde Park Village area and then picked up an iced coffee at Indigo Coffee.  The iced coffee drink had caramel mixed in and was very delicious.  I usually don't opt for iced coffee, but it was extremely hot in Tampa that day.  The next time you're in Tampa, stop by an Indigo Coffee location.  I recommend the Hyde Park Village coffee shop.

During the same business trip to Tampa, as mentioned above, I stopped by the Koffee and More Kafe in Crystal River for lunch on the way down.  I had an asiago steak panini and a cup of coffee.   Both were delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing.  I was later able to take my family to the cafe while on the way to St. Pete for a TB Rays baseball game.  Everyone enjoyed their lunch. The next time you're in the Crystal River area, I would recommend you stop by Koffee & More Kafe.

While in the St. Petersburg area for a TB Rays baseball game, my family met up with some friends at Addicted to the Bean coffee house in Madeira Beach.  Addicted to the Bean opened in early 2008 and offers great coffee and smoothies, as well as delicious pastries.   My wife and I had coffee while our kids had fruit smoothies.  The tart green apple smoothie was very delicious and would be a good idea on a hot summer, beach day.

My wife and I recently spent time visiting with her family in Southwest Georgia.  On the way over, we stopped in Bainbridge, Georgia to try out a new coffee house in the historical, downtown area.  Bean Around the World roasts their coffee onsite and offer various coffee drinks and a small assortment of pastries.  If you're in the Bainbridge, Georgia area, stop by Bean Around the World and support this new coffee house.

While in South Florida on business recently, I took my wife along.  On the way home, we spent a couple of days in the Naples and Fort Myers area.  We had breakfast in Naples at the Bayshore Coffee Company.  The egg and cheese croissants were delicious as was the coffee, as always.  I enjoy taking here to coffee shops that I've encountered during previous trips.

While in Fort Myers during the same trip, we found a coffee house in the Bell Tower shopping district called Blackhawk Coffee and Provisions.  The cafe has an eclectic, artistic feel with a welcoming feeling.  We stopped for breakfast before heading home.  The food and coffee was delicious.  One of the nice things about the location of Blackhawk Coffee is that it is in the same complex as our hotel.  We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Bell Tower and would have been able to walk over to the Bell Tower Shops.  The next time you're in Fort Myers, stop by the Bell Tower Shops and give Blackhawk Coffee a try.  The cafe information is listed below.  I have not been able to find a website for the cafe.
